Introduction:
 A. Stories about mismatched thrown together folks who must accomplish a great task.

 B. Us? Brought together by Jesus’ sacrifice. Rom.5:6-11
   1. Powerless, ungodly, sinners, and enemies
   2. His team, his family, his body
 C. What destroys HIS togetherness? Sense of family and body?
   1. Legalism, laziness, and selfish independence
   2. Wrong direction/walk – darkness vs light
 D. 1 John 1:5-7 A description of our fellowship with God! Awesome passage!
   1. May be the most important One Another in the Bible
   2. How do we have fellowship with God? Real relationship?
1. We cannot walk in darkness!  Vs.5-6
 A. God is light = absolute = no darkness! HELP!
 B. A claim of fellowship is not ownership of fellowship!
 C. Lie and live in darkness!  1 Jn.2:5-8
2. We MUST walk in God’s light! Vs.7a
 A. “…as he is in the light” = God determines light!
 B. “IF” = not unconditional
 C. Definition of God’s light in 2:9-11
3. Fellowship with God means fellowship with one another! Vs.7b
 A. It is automatic and inseparable = “we have”
 B. Our cleansing from all sin depends on it! Fellowship RULES!
 C. Our personal relationship with God is connected to our relationship with one another!
   1. How much do you love God? How do you judge it?
   2. Look around! Who do you love?
Conclusion:
A. Peter with Jesus in John 21. Needed release from guilt, forgiveness, and redemption from Jesus!
B. Jesus’ response was unusual. Do you love me? Feed my sheep!
C. No relationship with the Shepard w/o a relationship with the sheep!

Botom Line: There is no fellowship with God without fellowship with his family.
