Mike's Monday Thought (sorry the post is late!)Merry Christmas! It doesn't matter if Jesus was actually born on December 25th. It doesn't matter if it had some suspicious un-Christian origins that have long been forgotten. What matters is that a huge chunk of the world is thinking, talking, singing, and rejoicing about the miraculous birth of the Son of God. There are no restrictions on how much or how often you say his name! It's appropriate to wear shirts, hats, and jewelry that proclaims his birth! It's a time when people think about going to church, reading their Bibles, and watching TV programs that celebrate what shepherds, Magi, and angels celebrated two thousand years ago. Yes, it is commercialized, and yes, it is a time for many to drink and party too much, but it is also a time when you can walk down the street and sing, "Joy to the world! The Lord has come!"
