One Another Means Others                                    4-3-22

Bottom Line: All the “one another” passages about the fruit of the Spirit being shared with others.

Introduction:

 A. Do you like fruit? Which ones and why?

 B. Fruit is a generic name for all kinds of fruit!

   1. Good and bad, healthy and not so healthy…

   2. Fake fruit?

 C. The fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23

   1. Fruit not fruits = all things from the Spirit are fruits

   2. Not exhausting the list or a complete list.

 D. Fruit of the Spirit is any godly attitude or action.

   1. It is seen in how we treat others. See vs.24-25

   2. What about grace? Thankfulness? Forgiveness?

 E. All the One Another commands are about how we treat one another, and they are ALL fruit of the Spirit actions.

 F. Three examples of special fruit of the Spirit…

1. “…always seek after that which is good for one another and for all people.” 1 Thessalonians 5:15, NASB

 A. We must want what is best of others!

 B. Seek = intentional search, effort and desire – don’t wait!

 C. Love seeks ways to bless others!

2. “Do nothing from selfish or empty conceit, but with humility of mind regard one another as more important than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3, NASB

 A. We live in a ME WORLD! Do not assimilate!

 B. “Humility of mind” is something only Jesus can help with!

 C. “more important than yourselves” is choosing to be unselfish not about poor self-esteem!

3. “As each one has received a special gift, employ it in serving one another as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10, NASB

 A. God has blessed you with a special gift! What gift?

 B. Use it so serve one another not feed our egos!

 C. We are stewards of God’s manifold grace! Our most important and valuable responsibility as his children!

Conclusion:

A. The fruit of the Spirit in our lives means we seek good for other, we elevate others, and we serve others!

B. I have tried to do that as your minister for 17 years.

C. We are stewards of the manifold grace of God! I have tried to do with every word and action I have given.

D. All of our choices must come from our desire to be good stewards of God’s marvelous grace!
