Florissant church of Christ
Sunday, January 18, 2026FROM JERRY:One of the things I never want us to take for granted here at Florissant is who we are together.Monday we will celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day, and while his name is often connected to difficult chapters of our nation’s history, his hope was solidly rooted in the biblical vision of people living together with dignity in a spirit of unity, and love under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. What strikes me this week is how ordinary and beautiful that vision already looks when I see our church family gathered on a Sunday morning. I have the best seat in the house when I stand before you on that stage and see the unified diversity that is Florissant Church of Christ! We are a racially diverse congregation…not by accident, but by God’s grace and the courage of some bold individuals who paved the way for us. Different stories. Different backgrounds. Different experiences. Yet one Lord, one faith, one baptism (Ephesians 4:5). That is not something every church can say, and it’s something worth celebrating. The Revelation of John from God gives us a glimpse of where all of this is heading, “After this I looked, and there before me was a great multitude that no one could count, from every nation, tribe, people and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb.” (Revelation 7:9). Every time we worship together, we get a small preview of THAT moment. The Kingdom of God doesn’t erase our differences…it redeems them and brings them together in Christ. This is what it looks like to live as Kingdom citizens under King Jesus.I’m thankful to be part of a church where unity isn’t about everyone looking the same or thinking the same, but about loving the same Savior and learning to walk together in grace. In a divided world, that kind of church quietly shines. So let’s celebrate that! Let’s thank God for one another. And let’s keep choosing the way of love, because that way always looks like Jesus.I Love My Church!JW ... See MoreSee Less
