Mike's Monday Thought The Perfect Par I started playing golf on a regular basis with our church group a year ago. Prior to that, I averaged playing a game once every four or five years. I was not really a golfer by any stretch. After a year of learning and slowly improving, I am having to learn to be patient, to practice, and to appreciate even the smallest sign of consistency. It truly is a lesson that applies to my walk with God. I am a long way from being a perfect golfer, but my challenge is to improve my consistency of play as much as possible. It reminds me that God called me to holiness, but I'm a long way from being there on my own. While I work on being more consistent as I walk in his light, the blood of his Son, Jesus Christ, constantly washes my sins away, and he declares me holy. (1 John 1:7) I'm working on par and he's declaring me perfect in spite of my handicap. That'll preach! ... See MoreSee Less
