FROM JERRY:This Independence Day is unlike any other. As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, it’s appropriate that we pause to thank God for the courage, sacrifice, and conviction of those who secured the freedoms we enjoy today.But anniversaries aren’t just about looking back.They are also opportunities to look ahead.Two hundred and fifty years from now, no one will remember our generation because of the fireworks we watched or the cookouts we enjoyed. They will remember us - if they remember us at all - for what we refused to compromise, and what we faithfully passed on.As Christians, we belong to a Kingdom that is far older than America and one that will outlast every earthly nation. Jesus said, "I will build My church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it." (Matthew 16:18). The truth is, empires rise and fall…Flags change…Borders shift… But the Kingdom of God endures forever.That means our responsibility is not just to celebrate freedom—it is to steward the faith.Will the next generations inherit churches that still love the Scriptures? Churches that still preach Christ crucified? Churches that still love their Lord and their neighbors, welcome the broken, make disciples, love children, and courageously proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Those answers depend, partly, on what we do today.This weekend, as we celebrate America's first 250 years, let's also recommit ourselves to building something that will last another 250. Long after the last firework fades from the sky, I pray there will still be faithful churches lifting high the name of Jesus until He comes again.May God bless America—but even more, may He strengthen His Church to remain faithful for generations to come.I love my Church!JW ...
